Sing and shine on stage

Show tickets are now on sale!

Adia Voices provide fun, inspiring and encouraging singing courses for children in and around St Albans. We’re looking for children aged between 9 to 16 who have a passion for singing and would like to take their voice and performing to the next level. With Adia Voices, you will

  • Improve your singing in 1:1 lessons

  • Sing harmonies as a part of a group

  • Perform solo and group numbers in front of an audience

We aim to give the children an opportunity to build their confidence on stage, all while singing their hearts out. Throughout the course, they will challenge themselves by learning new songs both solo and in groups, creating harmonies, and preparing for a final performance.

The Adia Voices Course

At Adia Voices we do things differently. Instead of weekly sessions, we offer longer group sessions and one-on-one singing lessons, designed to fit well around busy family schedules. The Course runs from October 2024 to January 2025, culminating in a final show.

We are pleased to offer the first Adia Voices Course at a discounted price of £49 if your child is accepted. By accepting a place, you commit to attending all rehearsals and the final show. Spaces are limited to ensure personalised teaching and guidance throughout the course. Children will be selected based on their audition video and/or previous experience.

Materials

The list of songs and all the material to learn will be sent over in October, so there’s plenty of time to listen and learn the songs. The songs include featured soloists, to be allocated in casting. Songs are a mix of pop, rock and musical theatre pieces.

Rehearsals

In the rehearsals we’ll practise all the company numbers, solos, and small group numbers. Rehearsals are full of singing and having fun. We ask you to drop off your child at the sessions with their sheet music and a bottle of water.

1:1 Singing Lessons

As part of the course we offer 1:1 guidance in singing during the rehearsals, but also on two private singing lessons (30 min each). During lessons we’ll focus on individual technique and preparing each child for the concert.

Show

At Adia Voices we want to create a safe and fun performing environment. The show will be held in a St Albans theatre, in front of an audience of friendly faces, including family and friends.

Safety

All our staff is DBS checked and trained in safeguarding to ensure a safe and fun environment for your child.

Cost

We’re very excited to be able to offer the first Adia Voices course at discounted price of £49. Adia Voices is brand new, and during the first pilot course we’re testing the format to make Adia Voices the best it can be. Spaces for this course are limited, but there will be more opportunities later if you’re not offered a space in this one. If you’ve been offered a place and accepted it, we’ll ask you to commit to attending the rehearsals and the concert. We’ll also ask for your consent photographs and video material on our website and social channels during this course.

Applying

To apply, please fill out the form and include a 60-120 second video of your child singing your chosen song a cappella or along a karaoke/instrumental backing track. You can find plenty of suitable tracks on YouTube, but please make sure your child’s voice can be heard clearly. Your child can sing with or without a microphone, and the video can be filmed using a phone or a video camera. We ask that the video is well-lit, in focus, and captures your child from the waist up. Here's a clip of an audition video for reference:

The deadline for applications is the 15th of September 2024.

Please let us know if you have any questions, otherwise we look forward to receiving the audition video!
